Hello guys, I know I haven't done a good post in a while, hope this makes up for it!
I've been real busy nowadays, so Imma tell you what I've been doing!
Not too long ago, it was Vivian's birthday! Ruiqi, Leeboon, Jiahui, Yubin, Derwin, Joseph, Jianxiang and Nicholas went to celebrate :)
Oh by the way, Jianxiang freaking cute. Just saying. There are more photos, will put them up when Ruiqi does, hah.
We places clues all around and she had to find everything :) We did a lot man. It wqas like a self-organised camp already LOL.
Of course, what's a camp without plenty of waterbombs :)
And a bash. LOL. Ya I got unibrow la.Then, we had McBeth, which was pretty fucking awesome.

It's about fireflies. Have you seen fireflies before? They're beautiful.
Sijing told me that she catches them in Malasia, and keeps them in a jar. I would too. But she says they will die. Their lights will flicker and it will off, then they die. Sad okay. So she lets them out when their lights start to flicker, and their lights will glow brightly once they're out again! So it makes me think they die of heartbreak ): I know it sounds like a dumb idea, but that's what I think okay.
Anyway, I love fireflies too, I need to catch them and keep them in a jar for a while. Seeing them at fort canning not enough, so far away!
Aiya off topic. I'm gonna talk about the song, "Fireflies" by Owl City. I'm sure you all have heard it, if not go hear now. It was a hit a while back. Initially, I thought tis song was crap, like I didn't get it at all, and the Music video made no sense to me. But now I do.
What this song represents is a yearning and desire to relive our childhood. The melody is so simple and pretty, and it's so dreamy, like childhood innocence. Think about it, who catches fireflies? Children. Adults work too much to give a fuck LOL. Then he also says, "I'd like to make myself believe", which is something caught inbetween his fantasy and reality. He knows reality but wishes for fantasy. Get it? 'I'd like to make myself believe, that planet Earth turns slowly". He's means that Earth revolves too quickly, and we grow up too quickly too.
Like something as simple as just catching fireflies brings people back to their childhood, dreams, happiness. It seems magical and surreal, don't you think? Fireflies. And see how in the Music video, the room is stack full of toys, further supports.
Then, the lyrics do go, "To 10 million fireflies, I'm weird cause I hate goodbyes, got misty eyed as they say farewell. But I know where several are, and if my dreams get real bizzare, cause I saved a few and I keep them in a jar." To him, his dreams is reality, when he's awake, it's his childhood. That's why he saids "I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep". Fireflies symbolises childhood, and he says, goodbye sadly to his childhood. But his "dreams" which is reality, if it gets bad or something, he tries to relive his childhood with the several fireflies left.
